I was just simply saying that I am sorry IF you don't see/understand the sensitivity of the issue. I know there is a broader picture that we have to be concentrating on and I am not denying the importance of focusing on the more pressing issues of the elections outcome and will be ... and while the flag incident may seem like a minute incident with no significance to some, I find this gesture on their part very significant. They win and the first reaction is taking down the flag and replacing it with their own? in fact it speaks volumes about their mentality! why not place it side by side the Palestinian Flag!?

mmwwwwaa (ice breaker!) lol (OMG i feel like those girls you and I despise!)

A piece of cloth?

Huh? the U.S. and Israel are pissed off because of that?

Anger? and by the way, your closing comment was so out of place and so very un-necessary ...simply put: It's not about Fatah!

Their agenda? waiting to see that ... for, ultimately, it better be an 'our' agenda!

Iman, I didn't say I can't see or understand the sensitivity of the issue!!, there's no need to compare Hamas to others when it comes to putting up their flag, you're angry because of a piece of cloth (I fully realize what does this cloth mean, but that's not my point) and you fail to see how Fatah refuses to participate in the new government, which is more dangerous and harmful to the Palestinians? Not to mention that they haven't put it there forever, nor do we know who did that anyway!

Actually, if the US and Israel are pissed off because of that (as most of the international news agencies imply) then good for them, it was a momentary kind of thing to celebrate their victory and piss off some people, I'm not going to argue whether it was right to do that because I think it is silly to discuss it, lets discuss their agenda and their future plans better. I've listened to Farahat Asaad yesterday and I don't think it's fair to scandalize the party just because they've put their flag on the Pali parliament for a while soon after such a victory and ignore all the important things the party is trying to do.

P.S Don't take your anger on me because Fatah did not win the elections.

Shaden, C'mon now! You don't see fateh putting up il 3asifa's flag or il jabha putting up their own. Palestine is every Palestinian's Palestine. It's not Hamas' ... You cannot take down the country's flag and put your own group's .. I am very sorry if you fail to see/understand the sensitivity of the issue. And yes, we all have been saying all day yesterday and today let's wait and see what tomorrow will bring our way!

Thanks

Iman, الفلسطينية , I understand your sentiment and I know I should have felt the same but for some reason I'm not! maybe Hamas is just too happy that they wanted to illustrate their victory by putting the party's flag as to say we Hamas has won. As for your other concerns, come on now, it is not going to be as bad as those jokes show...Lets wait and see.

i agree with Iman- i don't want our flag changed- they can celebrate all they want but dont replace the flag- we have always been a secular soceity and tho hamas is in power now i hope that it wont go as far as what Iman posted : لي بنمسك معاه شريط نانسي عجرم 50 جلدة دحاميس يابوي

in any case if they were to enforce that rule i think israel would stand by such a decision since theyve declared nancy an offical threat to israel.

Palestine: Hamas Won!

A lot of reactions to Hamas winning elections in Palestine. Nas summaries some of these, then talks about after-shock. Shaden says, “that’s what Palestinians inside want, you either support them or not but don’t think you have the right ...
