		<description>[...] What interests me is that issues of apostasy in Afghanistan that greatly preceed Abdul Rahman can receive the official attention of US President George W. Bush, Bush was less interested over the 11 Afghans killed in riots over cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad, torture by US troops in Afghanistan, civilian casulties of aerial bombing in Afghanistan and the 89 Palestinians forced to flee Baghdad; but now President of the most powerful country in the world is concerned about one single man who converted from one religion to another. Is it because he fears along with the recent rise in the Afghan opium production, Rahman&#8217;s case will further evidence that Afghanistan has not been &#8220;liberated&#8221;? His only alternative will be to define the difference between Islamic and traditional law on Apostasy as stated above, effectively requiring Bush to join many Americans in viewing Islam favourably and acknowledging the difference between Islamic scripture and traditional practice.
