While the morality of some leaves me speechless, the immorality of others makes my blood boil.
After reading thisthe bolded text made me wonder what this world is coming to:
40 Jordanian journalists, who mainly worked for the state-run Radio and Television Corporation, planned to travel to Israel to attend a three-week training course at Haifa University, designed to spread the “peace culture” in the region.
Teaching peace to Jordanians? spreading peace in the region?
huh?!!…(somebody shakes me violently please)
What is so surprising you ask?
Despite the fact that Arabs constitute only 25% of the students at Haifa University, 80% of the students (Arabs and non-Arabs) called before the disciplinary committee were Arabs according to Ayelet Tzur the head of Haifa University’s disciplinary committee. Ayelet shamelessly added in a report published in the university’s newsletter, that the reason of such a high percentage is what she called “cultural differences”. Read more on thishere.
More?
Two years ago in December 24, Haifa district court rejected Adala’s request from the court for immediate action against Haifa University after the committee of Arabs student said the University prevented the placement of a Christmas tree in the University’s Main Building. On the other hand, the University approved the placement of a Channukah lamp in the Main Building. Nevertheless, the judge decided that the “inequality” of treatment does not justify the court intervention. Read more here.
Why don’t we listen to the minority of Arab students?
According to Fadi Abu Yunis, professor David Bukay said that all Arabs should be shot in the head. He also said: “The Arabs don’t care about anything but sex and alcohol,” and “They are stupid and have contributed nothing to humanity.” So what did the University do about Fadi’s complaint? Fadi was brought before the disciplinary committee and action was to be taken against him. More than 30 students were forced to listen to Bukay suggesting that the “IDF” humiliate Palestinians on camera. Suffice to say, no action was taken against the professor.
