Al-Kasaba Festival closed yesterday with
Arna’s Children. It was much better than I imagined it would be. There’s no way you can watch this documentary without getting emotional, I personally laughed and sobbed almost simultaneously at one moment, the humanitarian side of the film was very powerful. I think I’ve never really understood Palestinians who still live inside, I always thought that I have an idea about their lives; what they go through everyday and how they feel, but after watching the documentary, I know I never really did.
I will not review it, for my friend
Ola did. She even has video taped some parts of the movie, so check out her post.
You can order it on DVD by visiting Arna Active memorial site.

laughing & sobbing … exactly what i felt when i watched a couple of years ago.
the documentary is a master piece because it reminds us that at the end of the day, a violence can only breed violence, and you can’t expect a pretty resistance from an ugly occupation, even with children who at one point had flowery dreams
I know exactly what you are talking about!
