Hello People

'Sugarcubes' - very cute text and graphic you've got there.

Where can i watch Arabian dramas?

There're so many Japanese/Korean/Taiwanese/Chinese dramas online for example, www.crunchyroll.com
Also, I am able to subscribe the 60-over-TV channels but Arabic ones - don't have. Why? Why? Because Islam = Terrorism? I hate that; ISLAM = TRUE RELIGION.

I would like to watch Arabian ones. Help.

Ola, like I said when I saw you, some people don't think for themselves. Not to mention that the idea has become really old.

Zeynab, sure please go ahead. I'm glad you this was an interesting read for you.

I LOVE THIS!
Do you mind if I post this on my blog? I've been wanting to cover this angle for awhile, but I don't speak Arabic and thus can't critique these shows well. But, oh, how they need to be critiqued!

the more disturbing truth about Babel7ara is that this is how women are often treated in most third world countries, and that accounts for most women. not even Japan or Korea fair any better. it's sad how women in the 21st century still have no equality. throw in the global female sex slave trade and you'll get an idea of the bleakness of the situation. especially when you discover that the Western world is the first customer of women sex slaves.

Well, I was goign to write about this... It's true shows liek bab el7ara do get on my nerves as I see the way women were being treated, but I still like to watch it because the aim is not to humiliate women, but to show you how things really were. It's a portrayal of old Arab traditions and I like to see that. Besides, if you watch the show you would've probably find that they were actually criticizing these behaviours and mindset.

However, you said you haven't watch TV for over a year, which explains why you missed some good shows, really. There's one now on Dubai for Yusra, I think it's good because it boldly discusses a taboo. It talks about rape in the Arab world, 3 women who were raped and how the society treats them. One of them lost her job over it, other lost her husband, one of them died andone got pregnant... and of course things get more complicated, showing you how things could really get ugly for women out there...

Anyway, I agree that some ideas are getting out of hand, redundant...

morning,

I think this post,is like eating Mansaf in the morning,I'm just joking, you know I haven't watched tv for one year now, since i came back from Australia, despite i was one of those addicted to that small box, neither western series, nor Arabic, i watch some dvd movies, that matches my interests.

the other day, my sister and her husband wanted to watch Bab el-7arah, i was crazy, i was avoiding eye contact with our beloved TV,lol, as a protest again this craziness, i think they reminded me of Casandra (sorry if misspelled).
have a nice day,
