Airplane or Helicopter Hits a 50 Store Building in Manhattan

11Oct06

So far there’s no evidence of a terrorist attack. Not that I beleive the U.S officials (generally speaking).

SPOKANE — Police say an aircraft - there are conflicting reports if it was an airplane or helicopter - has crashed into a high-rise apartment building in New York City.

The building is located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side at East 72nd Street, between York and East End Avenue. New York ABC affiliate WABC reports several apartments on the 41st floor of that building are fully involved.

A Fire Department spokeswoman, however, says the aircraft struck the 20th floor of the building. Witnesses say the crash caused a loud noise, and that burning and falling debris could be seen.

There is no word yet on how many people were killed or injured in the crash. [Source]
