Free Abdul-Mon’em Mahmood!

26Apr07

Another journalist and blogger was arrested in Egypt! I can’t believe it, how threatening words are for some people (AKA oppressing regimes). Egyptian security forces arrested Abdul-Mon’em Mahmood, who works for Al-Hiwar channel and is also a blogger while trying to leave the country. The arrest happened after two days of chase and police raids on his house.

Doesn’t matter if he’s Muslim Brother (Ikhwan) or secular, arresting him for his opinions, not to mention that he’s a journalist is very pathetic and barbaric at the same time. This should not continue to happen!

Don’t miss out on reading Mark Lynch’s article on Islamists taking up blogging seriously.

The funny thing is that they don’t seem to realize that this way they encourage more people to talk and slam them more and more!
