Bazaar for Lebanon

23Sep06

Yesterday I went to a bazaar held for aiding children of Lebanon in Amman Cham Hotel in Shmeisani. I was surprised to find out that they were having a poetry reading by Mohammad Tammam, a young talented poet I’ve known only yesterday (unfortunately). He read poems he wrote about Qana and Gazza, but I must say that his love poems were the ones I’m most glad I didn’t miss. Great poems, amazing voice (he read and sang too).

Tammam along with his friend sold paintings by our most beloved artist and cartoonist Emad Hajjaj in a small auction of which the money raised went for children of Lebanon, the main victim of the Israeli terrorist war on Lebanon.

By the way Tammam has his own blog which can be accessed at http://mohdtammam.jeeran.com/

Many artsy cool stuffs were exbited as well, mostly traditional handcrafts. I got myself a beautifuly made pocket mirror. I bought it from the JMF’s section (Jordan Meningitis Foundation), you can get similar things and even home made food by calling them on 06-5510327 if you were unable to go for any reason. I wouldn’t want to miss the bazar if I were you though.
