Stop the Disease, Spread the Word

05Oct08

A sideshow of EXTREMELY powerful images depicting people from 7 countries suffering from Tuberculosis has been mentioned recently in Time Magazine. James Nachtwey, the photographer who captured the fatal effects of this plague, said about his unforgettable experience: “I have been a witness and these pictures are my testimony” .

About XDRTB (Extreme Drug Resistant Tuberculosis):

Extreme Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (XDR-TB) is a mutated form of tuberculosis that has already been detected in 49 countries. One person dies every 20 seconds. There is no reliable cure.

This “new” illness is becoming a major problem worldwide. The first step in preventing its spread and finding a cure is awareness.
