Salam Band @ Souk Jara

19May07

I consider myself lucky to have been introduced to this Jordanian musical band. Salam and the band are very talented yet down to earth. They are incredibly funny too but that’s another story. Salam performed two original songs this evening at Souk Jara (Directions: Rainbow Street), one in Arabic: “مين” which means “who” and another in English called “don’t blame me” (not sure about the name). While the English song was great, the Arabic one simply rocked! They were asked to repeat it twice. In additon to their original hits, they played awesome music for an hour or so.

The band’s style is rockish and makes you want to get on the floor and dance, only the floor wasn’t so much of a dance floor.

I’ll leave you with some pictures.

There’s so much hidden talent in Jordan that’s yet to see the light.

    Good stuff! :-)
