The Ten Commandments

12Dec07

AKA M.A Program Students Requirements

1- Thou shalt not smell.

    - Male students must shower at least once everyday.
    - Using deodorant is mandatory
    - Wouldn’t kill you to shave your armpit twice every month
    - Don’t wear the same clothes you wore to work unless you work indoors, you office is air-conditioned and you’re pretty sure you don’t stink.

2- Thou shalt not wear cheap perfume

    - If you’re so worried about your smell, soap will do for me! Just don’t bathe in cheap perfume. I’m begging you.

3- Thou shalt not wear too much perfume/cologne

    - More is not always better
    - You want to smell nice, not suffocate everybody and intoxicate nearby food and drinks

4- Thou shalt not try to impress girls by talking back to professors

    - It’s actually stupid
    - You make the doctor angry and insecure, oh and he WILL act upon it thank you very much

5- Thou shalt not act cute when seated next to a girl

    - Just because you can sit next to me, you don’t get to act all cute and funny
    - It makes me nauseous

6- Thou shalt not suck up to doctors

7- Thou shalt read, write and talk in English

    - Passing the TOEFEL test should be required BEFORE taking any course and not BEFORE taking the certificate
    - Having to be there while someone who couldn’t possibly have passed 4th grade English presents something for an hour or so is just cruel. It makes me want to scream KILL ME KILL ME NOW

8- Thou shall not take more than 2 courses if married AND employed

That’s not to say you’re not out of control of course

9- Thou shalt not take more than 1 course if married with kids AND employed
Seriously, have mercy on yourself

10- Thou shalt not brag about Tawjeehi score

    - So you’re a nerd, big deal! this is an M.A program so obviously, one way or another we all are. The difference between us though, is that I actually have a life.
    - Tawjeehi is over-rated in this country, people in their 30’s and 40’s still brag about their Tawjeehi results. Wow.

    The armpit shaving thing…you weren’t gender-specific. I hope you’re talking to females.

    -Shave armpits? males?

-Being smart is not equivalent to being nerdy and vice versa

    salam…
    oh salam…
    iman…oh iman.
ok, most women do shave, or at least to a point where it has minimal effect on odor. but if a guy doesn’t shave his armpits every now and then it will reach a point where it will cause the most repulsive odor that you can think of!

i don’t get it…what do you guys think that shaving is weird for men? it’s a must do for self hygiene. and ehe’m
that’s not the only place you should shave.

I understand if he’s an athlete - swimmer to be exact… but not as common for your average guy … trimming is a different story all together and makes sense than full shaving or waxing!

Iman, I’m talking about armpits not full body waxing! and I’m not saying guys should keep that area hair-less, I’m just saying, shaving every now and then would be nice. It’s a basic hygiene thing. And btw, if I remember correctly, it’s Sunnah too.

I was being sarcastic with the full shaving and waxing… trimming is fine but not SHAVING - at least thats how I see it! :p

Why does everybody seem mortified with males shaving their armpits? This is personal hygiene… It doesn’t make a difference whether it was a man or a woman, BOTH WILL STINK WITH HAIRY ARMPITS

What a nice topic with the morning coffee, good thing I do coffee

Shaden: Yes it is Sunnah, it’s called “sunan al fe6ra” which means instictive practices for human beings

Since you brought it up, I for one do shave my armpits on a regular basis. Hair just naturally tends to make you sweat and smell more. Shaving also makes applying deoderant easier and more effective.

If any man is insecure about shaving their armpits because they’re worried someone will think they’re gay, well they should worry less about what other people think, and more about what they want to do.

lol, why did everyone pick the armpit commandment to comment on ?!
