Why I don’t Watch CNN

Or browse their Website…

After hours of bombarding Rafiq Al Hariri Airport in Beirut among other several infrastructures in southern Lebanon, killing at least 47 this is what you see on CNN.com’s main page:

ACTS OF WAR

BREAKING NEWS

• Israel hits fuel tank at Beirut airport
• 2nd Israeli strike on Beirut airport sets depot ablaze

Translate the above to: Israeli airstrikes force Beirut airport to close and all incoming flights to divert.

• IDF: Rockets hit Haifa; Hezbollah denies attack
• Israeli ambassador: Haifa attack “major escalation”

The rocket hit Carmel, it’s a mountain far from the city and nobody got hurt. (my heart aches when I remember that Haifa was my grandfathers’ land, in which a small town once existed before it was ethnically cleansed in 1948) .

If you follow this link, the story title says: Israel attacks Beirut airport after rockets hit Haifa. Good one CNN, really smart and totally wicked! Israel bombed Beirut’s airport before Hizbollah hit the Carmel with a rocket! it happened more than 1 7 hours ago. And when did Hizbollah fire a rocket on Carmel? according to Reuters, Hizbollah threatened to hit Haifa only 9 hours ago.

• Hezbollah launches scores of rockets into Israel
• Israel, Lebanon officials say violence amounts to “acts of war”

And not a single headline similar to these?:

• Israel blockades Lebanon, kills 55 civilians
• Israel approves wave of Lebanon air strikes
• France says Israeli war acts “disproportionate”

Not even a single line about the deaths among Lebanese! those bastards think they can just fabricate the truth and allow only what they like

• Al-Arabiya: Israeli leaflets warn to stay away from Hezbollah centers.

what has actually happened is that Israeli leaflets warned citizens of south Lebanon to evacuate the area

The rocket hit Carmel, it’s a mountain far from the city and nobody got hurt.

Carmel is a large mountain, much larger than Haifa, while most of the city is on Carmel.

The two rockets hit part of Carmel in the middle of Haifa, just under Stella Maris Carmelite Monastery.

The rest of your information just about as accurate as that.

It’s unfortunate that we are deprived of more objective news sources. However, when comparing the BBC to CNN, i would opt for the latter and lesser of two evils.

That is exactly what the western media are doing, fake the news and revise truth to serve Israel by showing Arabs as the terrors and Jews as the angles, west is dominated by this phony media and I don’t blame them because that’s what they see and hear.

In America the best most balanced channel to watch would be the CNN. At least it interviewed the Syrian embassador in the US while fox news was interviewing ISraeli officials all the time, and whoever they refer to in the news they’d comment (a friend to the US) or (an enemy to the US) as if they were presenting news to children.

That has been the case since long. Israel is ‘defending’ itself against the ‘terrorist arabs’ !
    shameful.
I am sure things will change soon
    good day

That’s why there is CNN and CNN International and Newsweek and Newsweek International. The international version will say what you would like to hear so you keep coming back and CNN can claim more international market share.

So stop complaining about the racism in US media. Just watch the “right” channel and you will hear what you like so long as you watch the advertisements. it’s all about market share.

    Ali, lol customized international news?!

For every single news event there’s only one true version. I wouldn’t have minded if CNN’s main page had U.S headlines instead, I would have simply switched to the International edition, but the headlines were all about what’s going on in Lebanon and Israel, so no this is not what Americans want to know but rather what CNN wants them to know.

“this is not what Americans want to know but rather what CNN wants them to know.”

I no longer subscribe to this point of view. You can’t keep giving excuses to racists. There is internet, there is free SAT tv, there is alternative sources of information. Like you and me, we go after sources of into that fit our belifes. Americans do the same. they are not illiterate people living in a thord world country where there is only goernment controlled media. To fix the problem you have to confront people’s racism and they need to know it and they need to end it. I mean imagine if slavery was dealt with by giving same excuses, that americans only read-pro slavery news. we should hold free people resposnible for their actions. the americans voted for Bush even after the lies have been exposed. what’s the point of freedom and democracy if it does not come with accountability, at least moral. so please please please do not give americans excuses, hold them accountable. this is the only step towards making a change.

Actually what you posted SC is nothing compared to what I read on CNN every day (not because I like CNN, but because I want to know how they claim they are ” The most trusted name in News”

Here is a sample from what I read today:

CNN: “At the time, some 500 people were inside a lounge in a terminal on the Egyptian side of the border, according to witnesses and security sources.
The people were awaiting deportation back to Gaza because they lacked the proper paperwork. ”

First, there are 5500 Palestinains (Gaza residents) stuck on the borders between Gaza and Egypt,, NOT 500

Those people don’t lack proper paperwork! those are Palestinians who live in Gaza with their Palestinian IDs and Passports.

I don’t understand what is “deportation back to Gaza”?

This was just one sample from everything!
