Suspicious Smoke

07Oct08

Although Jordan ranks 10th in the world in terms of laws that prohibit smoking in public places, a recent study revealed that one-third of Jordanians are smokers.[Source]

If the laws are not being implemented properly and/or they just don’t seem to work, why do we still have them? What should be done is an amendment to the law so that it actually works. Less restrictive laws that are effective, and simply put WORK are much better than ranking 10th in terms of laws while the truth is, no one abides by them!

The laws themselves are just a smoke screen, implemented in an attempt to look like someone in the government cares when no one does. No one cares to enforce the rule, making this a corruption game.
