Fashion Week to Ban Size Zero Models or Lose Grant

It’s good to know that reason still exists.

London Fashion Week will no longer receive crucial funding from Mayor Ken Livingstone unless it bans “stick thin” models, his officials said today.

The London Development Agency has provided the twice-yearly event with £620,000 over the last three years and is about to enter talks with organisers over future funding.

Today the agency’s boss said it would only go ahead with the financial support if London followed other cities by outlawing models with a body mass index under 18. [More
