Sometimes I wonder how ethical it is to be ethical with unethical people. Is it OK to lie to a liar? steal from a thief for example? be a jerk when you’re dealing with bastards? is it OK to sink just as low?
And if you don’t, and you act morally, is that right? aren’t you allowing immoral people to get away with things and possibly reaching to places of authority where they will further abuse their positions and all because you were your good, righteous self with them? is that really moral of you? if you’re competing with an unqualified, undeserving and unethical person over something and your only chance to beat him/her is by playing his dirty game, is it right to do that? are you going to lose integrity if you do? what if you don’t? are you better than him? how? you allowed an undeserving, disqualified, and unethical person to win and get his way.

IMHO, I believe that to lower one’s ethical standards to compete with the unethical is to compromise one’s integrity. BUT, I believe the ethical are also clever, and can figure out how to work around the others. Eventually, character wins as no one wants to work with people they can’t trust.
BTW, HI SHADEN!!! :D!!!!
hmm , there’s nothing wrong with going down to his level , that’s what i think , it won’t effect you in any way , just treat ppl the way they DESERVE to be treated , if you know an asshole , treat him like one
PS: it took me like 10 min to figure out how to POST A COMMENT :S
lol Hi KINZI!!
ma7joob, thanks for leaving a comment. How come it took you 10 minutes to post one?!
BTW, the post is just a thought, and even theoretically, it doesn’t have to be a work situation. Just think about it in general.
It isn’t ok to react to bad with bad. Fighting with the same weapon only makes things worse, gets them lower.
One bad action isn’t anihilated by another. It’s like mathematics: -1 (bad thing) 1 (good thing) = 0 (natural state of things).
-1 (bad thing) 1 (good thing) = 0 (natural state of things).
PS: Forgot to put the plus in between those terms.
